About Us

De Sales Music Academy is an institute for performing arts. DSMA is a unit of S.F.S Group of Institutions established and managed by the Missionaries of St. Francis De Sales (MSFS). In order to cater to the needs of people who are passionate about music and those who want to pursue music as a career or just as a hobby, DSMA was inaugurated on 31st July 2010. However, the forerunner of DSMA was the summer camp which was organized in the month of April 2007 under the banner of De Sales Music Academy. Thereafter regular music classes were conducted in the premises of S.F.S English Medium School till the existing structure of DSMA was inaugurated in 2010.

DSMA is the first of its kind in the 175 years history of the MSFS Congregation. The project of DSMA, though an individual initiative of Rev. Dr. Santhosh Kumar, yet it was approved and encouraged by Rev. Dr. Mathew Kozhuppakalam, the then Provincial of South-West India Province and his Councillors. As a happy coincidence DSMA was blessed by Rev. Dr. Mathew Kozhuppakalam and was inaugurated by Mr. Rajesh Krishnan, a well-known and renowned playback singer and actor in Kannada Film Industry.
